www.drugID.info was conceived with the idea of making identifications of U.S. 'pills' definitive and easy and accessible directly to the public. Then, armed with knowledge of the drug name, the public finds the Web a rich source for further drug information.

30,000 consecutive IDs recently on www.drugID.info have been tracked as to the user's outcome. No useable ID information was discarded nor overlooked and no information was shared outside of our professional hands. We simply wanted to know how well you the public were doing on our website.

Users like you arrived at a direct definitive ID 99.53% of the time. Because we can and do go the extra mile to help, we offered assistance for 3% of IDs. For this last 3%, our 'live pharmacists' were able to make 5 out of 6 IDs, usually in far less than the 24-hours promised. Consequently, in less than 1 in 200 attempts - 0.47% of all IDs - were we stumped! We are gratified on how well the public uses the drugID.info site. In a matter of 4-6 clicks users know what their pill is -- just that quick!

In the last major study of drug ID resources, by contrast, pharmacists using only two out of the then 7 databases were able to make IDs 86% of the time. Pharmacists assisted with all of the IDs since all 7 of databases were only available to the public through professional help. The remaining five resources did far poorer. Now, 1 of the 5 is widely found in libraries but in the study it could only ID pills 44% of the time!
